What is the assessment before a hip operation ?

Of course this is an important operation and an important check-up is to be carried out before surgery.

A blood test for a complete check-up is necessary. (blood test)

A urine test is carried out to check for infection.

A visit to a cardiologist is essential, (cardio visit) an electrocardiogram and a complete check-up must be carried out with a few additional examinations.

The visit to the anaesthetist : this visit is essential; in addition to information specific to your case, you will be able to obtain answers to your questions concerning the anaesthesia that will be offered to you (either general anaesthesia or loco-regional anaesthesia). (Cf. Hospitalisation ; The Anaesthesia; The Consultation).

A visit to a dentist is also necessary: his or her aim is to look for a dental infection that you may not be aware of. A dental panoramic X-ray is necessary.
